Zgodnie z drektywą EPBD z 2024 r., od 1 stycznia 2028 r. wszystkie nowe budynki, będące własnością instytucji publicznych, będą musiały spełniać wymagania dotyczące budynków zeroemisyjnych (ZEB),natomiastod1stycznia2030r.obowiązek ten obejmie wszystkie nowe budynki w UE. Dyrektywa dąży do połączenia dużej efektywności energetycznej, całkowitego wyeliminowania emisji z paliw kopalnych oraz zaopatrzenia w energię z odnawialnych lub kwalifikowanych niskoemisyjnych źródeł [1].
